Extended and Environmental Intelligence

I remember jogging through this area before. I don't remember exactly why, but for some reason, I particularly like this street. My digital map turned a light lilac as it archived my delight.

The architecture feels more traditional. I feel like I'm walking back in time. And last time I walked by, someone had left a sign in the window for passerby to read: REMEMBER YOU ARE ALIVE TODAY. I would have thought my pleasure was encoded somehow, some part of my biometrics captured through my smart clothing or this smart watch or maybe it was my stride captured by near-range edge computing tech dotting the street and communicating back to my personal OS. All of this passes through my head in a moment and I glance down to my watch, tapping for an explanation: Don't walk down this street, it warns. Allergy season has begun, and thanks to the trees planted along this road, pollen levels here are high.

There are number of different ways that scene could go. Instead of glancing down at my watch, might pick up on my hesitation via the slowing in my gait, my indecision about which path to go down. This information might be communicated back to me via

What makes space place?

How do we represent these systems in a way that accounts for emergence, especially between individuals ie. modeling collective social interactions.

How does mapping culture enable proper attribution/value/ownership as we find new ways to model value with an information economy?
